You can enter scores and grades many different ways, e.g.:
| 18 |
Raw score |
| 90% |
Percent correct |
| A- |
Letter grades from your Grade Scale. (See Grade Scale for how it determines percent value.) |
| 3+ |
Rubrics from your Grade Scale. |
| ex |
Special Marks which you can customize. |
17+1 20-2 19-5% 85%+5% |
Show + extra credit, - late penalties, etc. Reports show scores exactly how you type them, e.g., "17+1" is calculated as 18 but displayed as "17+1" so students can see the adjustments. (Percents are out of the points possible, so if an assignment is out of 20 points, a score of 19-5% subtracts 5% of 20, not 5% of 19.) |
| [blank] |
Blank scores indicate an ungraded assignment, so it is not calculated into the grade. (Blanks are not considered missing.) |
The "Input as" menu on the screen lets you choose Points, Percents, or Grades/Rubrics. This is required only to interpret ambiguous scores like "4", which could mean 4 points, 4%, or a rubric 4. Otherwise scores like "B+" and "87%" are unambiguous, so the menu setting doesn't matter.
Note: This does not affect whether your grades are calculated as percents, grades, etc. — that is set on the screen.
