Accounts & Licenses Index

There are four types of account licenses:

The Free Jupiter Grades account is a gradebook for teachers. It does not include email and web access for parents and students, report cards, administrative access, or Spanish translation, although those features are enabled for a limited time when you first sign up. This is free forever, with no ads.

The Single Jupiter Grades account is for teachers to have a gradebook including email and web access for parents and students and Spanish translation. It also includes administrative access, so principals, counselors, and resource teachers can look up your students' grades. The rate is $49.95 per year (starting in December you pay a discounted rate for a partial year). There is no additional charge or limit for students, parents, TA's, resource teachers, or admins. You must sign up for a Free account before you can pay for a Single account.

The Group Jupiter Grades account has all the same features as the Single account, but you get a group discount for 20 or more teachers. The price is based on the number of teachers who give grades, while anyone who doesn't give grades is free, like resource teachers, counselors, principals, and administrators.

The Jupiter SIS account includes the above features plus transcripts, four-year plans, course requests, automatic scheduling, student billing, and test score analytics. The price is normally based on the number of students (but for schools with a student-teacher ratio less than 10:1, it's based on the number of teachers).

All accounts are upgradable and downgradable, so you can enter data in a Free account and upgrade it to a Single, Group, or SIS account anytime without re-entering anything.

Multiple Schools

Multiple schools may be in the same Group or SIS account. This is common for school districts and K-8 or K-12 private schools. Ask us to link your schools to the same account if:

1. One person will be the system admin for all your schools, and
2. You can make a single payment for all your schools combined.

By contrast, each school should have a separate account if:

1. Each school operates autonomously with their own system admin, or
2. Each school is paying separately.

Multiple-school accounts are usually cheaper, because the larger number of teachers may qualify for a better volume discount. Also, if some teachers teach at more than one school, with a multiple-school account it doesn't matter how many schools the teachers are at, but with separate school accounts each school must pay for each teacher, even if they have teachers in common.

Delete Account

To cancel your account, simply stop logging in, and it will be deleted automatically 120 days after you last login. (We do not keep your credit card info for automatic renewals.)

Archives

For Single, Group, and SIS accounts, all your data is saved and accessible as long as you continue to renew each year. For Group and SIS accounts, it saves all data from all teachers, even if teachers left your school years ago. But if your account expires, and you do not renew before the grace period ends on Oct. 31, and you have not logged in for 120 days, all your data will be deleted permanently.

For Free accounts, your data is saved as long as you continue to login. If you do not login for 120 days, your data will be deleted permanently. So if you will not be teaching for 4 months, be sure to login periodically to keep your account active.

You will receive a warning email 10 days before any data is deleted.

To check the status of all staff members at your school, system admins can look on the screen. The ones with checkmarks are licensed, and the ones without are not:

Single means the user paid for their own account, but you can still access their data the same as a group account.
Group means the user is a teacher covered by your group account.
Res means the user is a resource teacher, which is included for free.
Admin means the user is an administrator, which is included for free.
Comp means the user received a complimentary account.
None means the user is using the free version with limited features.
Excluded means you explicitly excluded the user from your group account, so they are using the free version.
Temp is an account you have added, but the user has not signed up to claim it and choose a username.
Archived means the user had classes which are saved for archives, but they cannot login anymore.
