Import/Export Assignments Index

You can import and export scores to a spreadsheet. This is primarily useful to enter scores while offline using Excel (or any spreadsheet).

To copy a list of assignments from any class and any teacher at your school, see Assignments.

To export total grades or an electronic copy of your gradebook, see Export Grades.

To Export scores:

1.  Go to the screen.
2.  Select "Export Assignments as Spreadsheet", and select which assignment(s) in which class(es) to export.
3.  Once the file is saved to your computer, you don't need to be connected to the internet anymore.

To Edit scores offline:
4.  Open the data file in Excel (or any spreadsheet application).
5.  You can change or add new scores and comments. But do not change the names, dates, or any other cells, otherwise it will not import correctly back into your gradebook.
6.  Save the spreadsheet as Text (Tab delimited) or CSV (Comma delimited).

To Import scores:
7.  Go to the screen and select "Import Assignments from Spreadsheet".
8.  Select your .csv or .txt file, or Copy all the cells in your spreadsheet and Paste it into the text box. It will scan the scores for changes and prompt you before saving them. (Note: The data must be in the format produced by the Export feature. Other formats are not supported.)

Note: You can add new assignments to your spreadsheet by duplicating the two columns for Score and Comment. However, it is easier to first add the new ungraded assignments in Jupiter while online, then export them to create a spreadsheet ready to fill in scores. Also, for standards-based grading, you cannot add new columns to score multiple objectives separately; you can only edit columns that were exported that way.

Troubleshooting

If nothing downloads, make sure your browser is not blocking downloads. For Internet Explorer, in the "Tools" menu select "Internet Options...". Click the "Security" tab and click the "Custom Level" button. Scroll to find "Downloads" > "Automatic prompting for file downloads" and select "Enable".
