Grades that Don't Count Index

There are several ways to give grades that don't count toward the total.

For all students:

Worth Zero Points — Create an and set the "Worth" to 0 points.

Zero Category Weight — On the screen select "Weighted Categories", and create a Category with zero weight. The Category will still show a subtotal grade, but that will not count toward the total grade.

Zero Grading Period Weight — On the screen, set the Cumulative option to "Weighted average...", and set the weight to zero where appropriate. This will still show a grade, but it will not count toward the cumulative total. This is one way to handle non-academic grades on report cards, like Citizenship or Effort.

For just one or some students:

Special Marks — Use a Special Mark from the screen where the value is undefined ( - ), or any Special Mark if you're using Rubrics.

Note: It ignores any score or mark it doesn't recognize, so that can be another way to type grades that don't count.

Drop Low Scores — Click the "Drop" button on the , , or screen to automatically drop the lowest scores. See Drop Low Scores

For entire course/subject:

Zero Credits — On the screen in Admin Mode, set the Credits to 0 for the section so it doesn't affect the GPA.
