Send Email (for Teachers) Index

On the screen in Gradebook Mode, teachers can send grades and announcements to their students and their parents/contacts. (Not available for the Free version.) Options include:

To — Select one student, a whole class, or several classes, and send to just students or parents or both.

Bcc — Optionally send a copy of the email to someone else. If you send an email for just one student, it sends a blind copy of the whole email. But if you select multiple students, it sends just a single copy of the "Note for everyone" (if any), rather than copies of every student's email, because that would flood their inbox. You can see this in the Preview.

Subject — It automatically appends the student's name to the subject, so it's easier for parents/contacts if they receive email for multiple students in the school.

Message — Select what you want included in each email:

•

Note  (Notes to individuals are erased after you send them, so you don't accidentally send the same note to someone else. Notes for the whole class are not erased.)

•  General Announcement from the screen.
•  Individual Comments from the screen.
•  Attendance
•  One-click access links
•  Current grades in your classes  (You may limit it to students below a certain grade, e.g., for deficiency notices.)
•  Report cards for all classes
•  List of all assignments
•  List of selected assignments
•  List of missing assignments only  (Email is generated only for students who are missing anything, unless you include other information like the Current grade, General Announcement, or Individual Comments.)

Attachments — You can post files online and include a link to your files in your email. This is not actually an attachment, so do not delete or rename your file till everyone has a chance to download it.

Spanish Translation — Email can be translated to Spanish automatically. See Bilingual

View Log — Click the "View Log" button to see all the email messages you have sent. Messages are saved for 12 months, then they are deleted automatically. Admins can see your messages, but other teachers cannot. You can see also any automatic alerts.

Bounced Email — Click the "View Log" button to see if any messages bounced back because the address was invalid. Note, it also erases the invalid email address from the student's record. The screen shows which email addresses were deleted recently.
